The Methods of the Study of Holy Fathers’ Works and the Way of the Comprehension of the Fathers of the Church The study of the patristic writings in the modern science uses a number of methods pursuing private goals and making clear only certain aspects of the patristic heritage. The article considers conditions under which it is possible to gain a holistic sense in the patristic studies. This approach the author calls the way of the comprehension of the Church Fathers.
