Resume: High mortality from cardiovascular diseases in general and from coronary heart disease in particular, dictates the need for timely diagnosis and adequate treatment. Therefore, the study of the endothelial function and the development of methods for the rational treatment of coronary artery disease taking into account the interaction of drugs with factors produced by the endothelium (endothelial relaxation factor, prostacyclin, endothelium-1), opens up great prospects for improving understanding of the pathogenesis of coronary artery disease and optimizing its treatment. Modern drug treatment of patients with angina pectoris can favorably affect the survival of certain groups of patients and improve their quality of life. At the same time, the development of refractoriness to antianginal drugs, their side effects in a significant part of patients, as well as the ever increasing pharmaco-economic cost of the treatment, forces us to develop new methods for the treatment of coronary artery disease, including non-pharmacological ones.
