The aim of this reseach is to study the ectopic mineralization in cardiovascular system tissues. By means of different physical and physico chemical analitic techniques and mineralogical methods, various minerals in addition to carbonbearing hydroxyapatite have been revealed for the first time. The most important ones among new minerals according to their possible impact on human organisms are oxides and sulphides of metals with variable valencies. The cause of the minerals deposition in tissue hypothetically is decomposition of the metal binding proteins and/or of the lipid metal binding complexes. The most likely source of the titanium minerals is iatrogenic one.
