The article is devoted to the development of a methodology for the construction of an integral indicator society development (ISD) and the rationale for its application. In the work presented by-step method of calculation of integral index of development of society. The analysis shows that the use of ISD provides a more objective picture of the situation of the state, given the broader and more balanced set of indicators.
