Design methods of embankments as tools for shaping the architectural identity of the city

The article examines design methods of embankments aimed at shaping the architectural identity of the city. Embankments are emphasized as unique spaces where natural and cultural contexts intersect, and their architectural configuration directly affects the perception of urban identity. Based on Russian and international experience, the study identifies key design approaches, including integration of historical-cultural codes, sociological analysis, landscape modeling, and spatial composition. It is argued that design methods should be viewed not only as technical tools but also as cultural practices that contribute to the sustainable image of the city.
