Methods (techniques) of social engineering used in cybercrime

The author, relying on the statistics of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, determines the scope of cybercrime as actively developing. Also in the article presents sociological studies of the American analytical company "Purplesec". Social engineering is considered as a way of committing crimes in the field of computer information. Eight most popular techniques (methods) of the application of social engineering are highlighted and illustrated: phishing, vishing, pretexting, "Trojan horse", extortionist, quid pro quo, "road apple", inverse social engineering.
