The interdisciplinary approach to the definition of "cultural transmission” concept

The issue of preservation and transfer of cultural elements from one generation to another is widely discussed both in humanities and natural sciences. The concept of "cultural transmission" is included in the discourse of such sciences as cultural studies, sociology, economics, ethnic psychology, etc. Within the framework of the concept application, culture appears to be some form of social experience transmission through the familiarization of each generation with not only the surrounding world of objects, the ways of human-nature interaction, but also with cultural and social values, behaviour patterns. The author pays special attention to the methods of studying the cultural transmission in the framework of various schools.
