International regulation of local government

The article deals with the right of citizens to apply to international bodies for the protection of rights violated in the implementation of local self-government. States that have signed the European Charter of local self-government should adopt legal acts in accordance with this international norm, as it guarantees the minimum rights of local self-government. It also examines the formal grounds for applying to the European Court of human rights in case of violation of these guaranteed rights.
