Interannual fluctuations in summer season precipitation and the quasiperiodic component of atmospheric circulation for North-Easten Eurasia

This paper analyzes the joint variations in the amount of summer precipitation and the EA/WR (East Atlantic/West Russia) teleconnection circulation index for the studied area in the Far East region. We calculated the wavelet coherence spectra for the analyzed parameters. Regions with high values of the coherence coefficient were determined. The presence of joint oscillations of the analyzed parameters with periods of 2-4, 6-8 years was established. Phase differences of oscillations and time intervals of their localization have been determined. Patterns of temporal variability of analyzed parameters for the range of interannual fluctuations are presented. Assumptions are made about the origin of the studied oscillations and consistency with the results of other authors is established.
