Interethnic relations among school students of Nizhnevartovsky district from the teachers’ perspective

The paper presents the results of a longitudinal study on interethnic relations and social well-being of school students conducted in Nizhnevartovsky District of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug - Yugra in 2014-2018. Special attention is paid to the views of high school teachers on interethnic relations at school and their harmonization efforts. The research investigates interethnic problems, the forms of interethnic conflicts, and the spread of extremism and nationalism among school students. The paper describes the state of educational activities intended to prevent any school or ethnic conflict. The problems of relationship between students are analyzed. The integration concerns of migrant children in the local community are determined as well. The research identifies the attitude of teachers to various approaches to undertaking ethnic and cultural activities at school.
