Interregional differentiation of regions of the Russian Federation: methodological approaches to assessment

The article proposes an algorithm for calculating the dynamic coefficient of polarization of regions based on indicators of socio-economic development. The developed method is based on the integral coefficient of structural changes in the economy. The developed methodology allows us to assess the degree of differentiation and sudden changes in regional development indicators. The methodology was tested using statistical data from all regions of the Russian Federation from 2000 to 2021. according to four indicators: GRP per capita, average per capita income, natural population growth rate and the share of unprofitable organizations. The results obtained are well interpreted and make it possible to evaluate measures of government influence in order to smooth out imbalances in regional development over time. Also, the methodology under consideration makes it possible to carry out assessments for any groups of indicators of socio-economic development and various time periods.
