Mytheme of ship / boat in the artistic world of H. Melville, E. Hemingway, V. P. Astafiev

The article is devoted to the mytheme of ship / boat in the works of H. Melville, E. Hemingway, V. P. Astafiev. This mytheme is considered as personification of Man and Humanity including the parallels «ship - house», «ship - town», «ship - theater», and also as personification of the world cognition, way of life, destiny, human selfwill. Such versions of the mytheme as the ship of fool, the ship of death and the motif of the Flood associated with the last one are presented.
