Mythopoetics of Nabokov’s early stories

The article by O. A. Dmitrienko is devoted to mythopoetics of Nabokov’s early stories. Poetics connected with mythologic grounds is developed in the stories of 20s. Mythological images are directly exploited in such short stories as “The Wood-Sprite”, “Windstroke”, “Thunderstorm”. The author dwells on the topics of native soil, gift and selectness which have become major for him. Mythological theme lies on the surface. It is revealed in a modernist technique.
