Migration of bean goose (Anser fabalis) in the European northeast of Russia

On the basis of long-term observations in the East-European tundra and taiga zone of the Komi Republic the main migration routes of Bean Geese were investigated. As a result three independent flyways of the Bean Goose in the European northeast of Russia were discovered. Migration streams are determined by migration of geese of different geographical populations. Autonomy of migratory geese verifies earlier suppositions on the existence of “northern” and “southern” flyways of the Bean Goose.
