Population migration in the North Caucasus in the context of regional security and social stability

The article examines the situation in the North Caucasus in the field of migration during 2010-2019 based on the analysis of statistical information. The author gives characteristics of the key factors determining the specifics of migration processes in the region, and mentions the most common types of migration. The article shows that the current socio-economic and political situation in the region has an important impact on the intensity, structure and directions of migration processes and identifies the main trends and directions of population movement within the region and to other regions of the Russian Federation. The author identifies the republics of the North Caucasus that are exposed to the highest risks due to significant outgoing migration flows and justifies the necessity of adjusting the socio-economic policy at the level of regions experiencing a significant migration outflow of the population.
