A sketch of the traditional and modern conceptions of ascending migration of hydrocarbons in natural oil-and-gas systems mechanisms is given. Classical and the newest methods of petrosearch geochemistry are considered. It is drawn the conclusion concerning methodological bases of understanding of hydrocarbon fluids migration processes, and steady near- surface geochemical indicators of deposits.
