The article deals with the state of migration legislation as a mechanism of regulation of labor migration in the Russian Federation in the modern period. From this point of view, the regularities, trends, features of the Russian legal support of the migration movement of the population labor migration are studied. The ways of improving the migration legislation are suggested.
