The article deals with the main development trends of migration processes and migration policy in the South of Russia during the period of 1920-1933. The author focuses on the dynamics of population size and urbanization, the causes and the spatial direction of migrations, the motives of the state migration policy. The paper discusses the influence of ethno-political conflicts in the Terek region and class enmity, collectivization on the migration processes.
