The main topic of the study is the analysis of migration processes in the structure of ensuring the demographic security of the Russian Federation. In recent years, the state is faced with the problem of reducing the country's population. Such trends are caused by a significant number of factors and have largely intensified in the context of the current difficult epidemiological situation due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The achievement of a positive vector in the issue of the demographic situation in the country was declared the goal of the state by the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin in his address to the Federal Assembly on April 21, 2021. In this regard, it is important to note that one of the significant components of replenishing the decline in the population of Russia is the migration inflow from neighboring countries. The coronavirus pandemic and the stagnation of migration processes provoked by it have led to a sharp decline in demographic indicators in the country. It becomes necessary to analyze the significance of migration processes in the context of ensuring the demographic security of the state, as well as to identify the current problematic aspects of this area.
