Germany's migration crisis: load or investment in the future?

The article considers the migration problem, which has been addressed to in а strongly negative connotation in the modern Russian discourse, especially in relation to the developed nations of Western Europe. It is commonly thought that the increasing over the last years migration flows cause huge damage to the European countries’ economic and political development. Indeed, such phenomena as increase in the number of crimes, social instability and escalation of interethnic and interfaith contradictions between native Europeans and immigrants arriving from numerous regions of Asia and Africa are taking place. These circumstances provoke active discussions about the possibility of Muslims’ integration into the European community. However, the current focus on negative aspects of migrations for the European community, many advantages of the increasing migration flows, which not only resolve the socio-economic problems of the old Europe, but also create the basis for these states’ future development, are usually neglected. Therefore, the aim of this article is to examine in details the opportunities brought by millions of migrants arriving in Western Europe for boosting the pace of economic growth, normalizing the demographic situation and stable development of the European states in general, and Germany in particular in the coming decades.
