It is carried out sanitary-bacteriological research of waters of the central part r. Lena and area of Yakutsk. It is established, that by microbiological criterion object as the surface source of drinking water supply concerns to II-III degrees of epidemiological hazard. Bacteriological impurity of river water and an unsatisfactory degree of its sanitation define poor quality of potable water, that of Yakutsk in turn affects a level of morbidity of the population sharp coliform infections (SCI). For the period within 2003-2007 years SCI morbidity of townspeople averaged 1000 events on 100000 person (1% of the population). In structure of coliform infections of 72% make coliform infections unstated etiology, 12 % are necessary on infection of established etiology and on 8% - on a dysentery and a salmonellosis. Direct correlation of high and average force between the common SCI, a dysentery, SCI unstated etiology and quality of potable water is revealed.
