This study was undertaken to assess the efficacy of the therapeutic combination that included microcurrent reflexotherapy (MCRT), speech therapy massage, and administration of cortexin in 73 children with pseudobulbar syndrome. Such comprehensive treatment increased functional activity of the Wernicke's and Broca's area in the brain and normalized the tone of articulation muscles with subsequent development of speech. Preliminary analysis of the results of clinical and neurological assessment using the express method developed by S.V. Gorsheneva demonstrated high efficacy of MCRT and speech therapy massage in restoring speech in children with organic lesions of the central nervous system. According to the electrophysiological parameters of the brain, the maximum positive dynamics was observed when neuroprotector cortexin was included into the treatment regimen. Comprehensive rehabilitation using MCRT, speech therapy massage, and cortexin affects both central and peripheral elements of pathogenesis of speech retardation in children with cerebral palsy.
