Complex mineralogical study including Raman spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, microprobe, X-ray diffraction, thermal, isotopic analyses and transmission electron microscopy allowed obtaining of adequate characteristic of carbon-bearing substance of the Tunka fault metasomatites. It is shown that analyzed particles are nanocrystalline graphite with 1—50 nanometers in primary La crystallite sizes, rarely up to 100 nm. The larger particles of carbon substance with the size of 1—5 µm correspond to high-ordered graphite. The main structural feature of the studied nanocrystalline graphite is a value of interplanar distances that are rather small in comparison to standard graphite.
