Objective: To evaluate the parameters of inflammation mediators, markers of myocardial damage and heart failure in pregnant women with myocarditis and heart failure class I according to NYHA in order to optimize the method of delivery. Material and methods: Pregnant women with myocarditis were divided into the main group (natural childbirth) and comparison groups (cesarean section). Inflammatory mediators troponin, C-reactive protein, brain natriuretic peptide and left ventricular ejection fraction were studied. Results: Predictors of heart failure such as left ventricular ejection fraction <50% and cardiac natriuretic peptide -128 pg/ml may help determine the optimal mode of delivery. Conclusions: During routine examination of pregnant women with myocarditis, it is necessary to determine the level of precordial natriuretic peptide in the blood plasma in order to predict or exclude the risk of further development of heart failure in the postpartum period.
