Preservation of Syria's cultural and historical heritage: the world politics aspects

The purpose of the paper is to identify the relationship between world politics and culture in the context of the concept of sustainable development. As an example, the author analyzes the situation in the region of the Arabian East. As a result of conflicts there is the destruction of the world’s historical monuments over the past decades. The author analyzes civilizational transformations in the territory of modern Syria and shows the importance of cultural heritage not only for the Syrian people but also for all humanity. It is concluded that it is necessary to unite the world political forces (UN, UNESCO, etc.) to help Syria to solve two problems: ending the war and preservation of historical and cultural heritage of international importance. Besides, an important conclusion is the role of cultural heritage in modern international relations.
