The world economy facing the challenges of the «Annus horribilis»: on the threshold of new regionalization

The modern economic system is inextricably linked to the processes of globalization and re-gionalization. International economic instability becomes a part of global political instability. It is obvious that there are major changes in the structure, geography and governance models of the global economy. However, theoretical understanding of these changes lags behind current practices. Thus, the purpose of this article is to identify the main problematic components in the models of management of economic processes and their causes, and to offer possible scenarios of coming out of the crisis.
