Worldview and aesthetic criteria revealing the value of game as an artistic method of V. Nabokov’s art

The article researches basic principles of play poetics of Russian-language writer V. Nabokov. In modernism and than in postmodernism the game became key factor of metapoetics, the author resists a realistic image of reality he sneers at it and parodies motives and images of cultural codes to show self-value of art and creative process. With their help the artist creates individual artistic world rejecting deterministic laws of life and setting an authorial game rules in art.
