Worldview preferences of Russian students and schoolchildren in the Volga region and North Caucasus

The article summarizes the results of surveys and focus groups conducted with high school students and schoolchildren in the Yaroslavl, Tver, Astrakhan regions, the Republic of Tatarstan, as well as in some regions of the North Caucasus. The main questions touched on the position of young people in relation to religion, family, the opinion of where Russia gravitates more, towards Europe or Asia, etc. The overwhelming majority of young people identify Russia as a special geopolitical entity. National and religious affiliation is of greater importance for young people in national regions.
