World space trends and prospects for sustainable development of the space industry in Russia

The article analyzes the trends of the world space market, the main directions of activities of the countries - leaders of the world space sphere, the prospects for the development of the space industry in Russia. The rocket and space industry plays a key role in ensuring the national security and defense of the country, in its economic and social development. The Russian rocket and space industry has not yet been able to develop its own commercial potential, which is why it must rely mainly on the state. Therefore, during the transitional stage, the state must retain a critical role in the development and competitiveness of the national rocket and space industry. One of the prospects for the development of enterprises in the rocket and space industry is diversification, the main areas of which can be: medicine and pharmaceuticals, heavy industry and mechanical engineering, fuel and energy complex, Earth remote sensing, control systems. The state will finance defense and scientific orders. Enterprises producing civilian goods must be profitable and earn on their own. The objective need to overcome negative trends in the rocket and space industry presupposes the formation of a mechanism for the sustainable development of enterprises in the rocket and space industry, providing directions and ways to increase their stability and competitiveness. The problem of ensuring the sustainable development of enterprises in the rocket and space industry is urgent, and at present its importance and significance is increasing due to the aggravation of competition in the space sector, as well as in connection with the growing instability, dynamism and challenges of the external environment.
