The mission of biology in the context of global problems

The role of biology as a science and academic discipline is considered in the context of global problems of our time. It is noted that the potential of life Sciences in the education system and in socio-economic development is significantly underestimated. Arguments are made in favor of radically increasing biology in solving problems of education and social development. The idea of a worldview turn is put forward: the transition from a technocratic way of thinking to a biocentric worldview. Possible ways and consequences of this worldview transformation are discussed.
