The article discusses the mystery of the founding of the Pythagorean school, the structure of initiatory training in it, the symbolism and doctrine of the Pythagoreans, mysterious practices of the education of the Pythagoreans. The figure of Pythagoras is concerned as the founder of the doctrine and worship. The author proves that the doctrine which has left a special mark on the lifestyle of the Pythagoreans, set itself the objective of attaining liberation from the cycle of rebirth. The subject content of the Pythagorean education is analyzed, it had a specific initiatory function. Discusses The teaching methods used in the Pythagorean school are considered, they also had a mysterious, symbolic nature and were aimed at providing access to the divine states of wisdom and understanding. Overall, the school is presented in the form of the esoteric brotherhood, whose activities are bonded by a sacred purpose and striven to attain a harmonious combination of theory and praxis.
