The article notes the importance of the concentrated polling of the call set on the millimeter wave and the basic technologies required to enable a 5G mobile system to efficiently use this band. High path loss, atmospheric attenuation, rainfall damping, and limited instrument performance are likely the main obstacles to establishing a practical circuit and system at millimeter wave frequencies.
