Modern networks can consist of tens of thousands of devices that are interconnected through various network protocols. To automate the management of infrastructures of this scale, it is necessary to maintain a single source of truth for all network equipment, accounting for the multi-layered nature of data transmission networks and the different architectures used in their design. This work analyzes existing multi-layered models for describing network topologies proposed by public organizations (IETF, ONF) and commercial companies (Google, Microsoft, Facebook), identifies their limitations and proposes a model for describing dynamic routing information for the OSPF and BGP protocols. The work presents the architecture of a system for storing and analyzing data based on the proposed model, using graph databases, which enables real-time monitoring of changes in the topology of external and internal network connectivity, detection of connectivity disruptions, routing changes, and more.
