The paper deals with the problem of the representation of knowledge verbalized by English adverbials on the language, semantic and mental levels and involves studying the problems of categorization, conceptualization, representation and verbalization of the adverbial sense of the sentence. Based on the results of the study the author takes up the process of cognitive modeling of language structures, one of the possible models representing the temporal adverbial sense.
