Models and mechanisms of spatial development: innovative aspect

This scientific article examines topical issues of innovative development, taking into account the implementation of the Spatial Development Strategy of the Russian Federation until 2025. The authors provide an overview of the models of innovation diffusion existing in the theory, study the essential factors and conditions affecting this process. The paper assesses the current state of innovative development of the Russian economy, identifies topical problems that are holding back an innovative breakthrough. The work pays attention to the state policy in the field of innovative development, which is reflected in a number of strategic planning documents. As a result of the study, the authors identified mechanisms and tools for spatial development, taking into account the implementation of policies to stimulate the innovative activity of organizations and enterprises at regional levels. In the conclusion, the ways of improving the mechanisms for stimulating innovative activity were proposed.
