The article deals with the very relevant problems for the modern economy of developing tools for problem statements, mathematical models and methods for choosing the structure and elemental composition of fixed and variable assets of the working capital of a manufacturing corporation and the proportions of own and borrowed financing of the costs of its operating segment, taking into account the parameters of the market environment (demand and prices for products, available volumes, rates and credit conditions banks of working capital and investments in fixed assets, risks associated with production activities, etc.). In methodological terms, the results obtained by the author complement the provisions of the neoclassical theory regarding the assessment of the optimal cost structure, taking into account the cost of the components of the capital advanced to cover them in conditions of uncertainty and risk of managerial decision-making in the fields of production and finance. The author provides the necessary comments on the formulation of the problem, its mathematical formalization and justification of the choice of criteria and restrictions, which should include not only production, technological, financial and resource, but also market and risk risks, including the risks of loss of financial stability, reduction of return on equity and going abroad break-even production.
