Modeling of regional inflation as a basis for developing measures to manage inflationary processes

The article analyzes the relationship between the concepts of regional and national inflation. The article substantiates the relevance of studying regional inflation for the monetary policy of the Bank of Russia. The method is considered and all stages of building a regression model of regional inflation are described on the example of the Kuzbass economy. The quality of the resulting model is evaluated and its features are described. In the article, Kuzbass inflation is divided into regional and Federal factors, and the most significant factors affecting the dynamics of regional inflation are described. The reasons for the dominant influence of national inflation on regional inflation are described, and the facts of the manifestation of this factor in certain areas of the economy are given. Conclusions are drawn about the predominant influence of Federal factors on price dynamics in Kuzbass, and it is also estimated which of the regional factors have a predominant influence on prices in the region, and why this situation has developed in the region. The article shows the relationship of factors with consumer demand and price formation by producers, as well as provides relevant areas for the Kuzbass authorities to manage inflationary processes in the region.
