Modernization of machine building in Kazakhstan through innovative development of small and medium-sized businesses

The article is devoted to the development of small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) in Kazakhstan, which is recognized in the world as an effective lever for ensuring the country's economic growth. It examines the current state and scope of this business in Kazakhstan, as well as the possibilities for its development in the future. It has been established that the level of development of SMEs in the country is low, and the existing structure of employment of its subjects is far from perfect. The reason for the structural deformation in the entrepreneurial activity of SMEs has been identified, which is associated with its insufficient development in the manufacturing sector, the absence of its subjects in the production of certain industries that determine the intensive development of the country's economy. Particular attention is paid to the creation of SMEs around new innovative enterprises. At the same time, recommendations are proposed on the use of the state support mechanism in order to accelerate the growth of SMEs in the manufacturing sector and to better realize its technical, industrial and socio-economic potential.
