The article is devoted to the description and analysis of transformations in the daily life of employees of the people's Commissariat of internal Affairs of the Buryat-Mongolian Autonomous Republic formed in 1923. In the introductory part, the author points out that the modernization processes of the first decades of Soviet power pursued the goal of changing the ideological foundations, value ideals, moral norms and everyday practices of all social groups. The end result of the reforms was a person who not only supported the current government, but actively propagandized and implemented the ideals of the new socialist life. In the main part, the process of gradual replacement of pre-revolutionary management practices with Soviet ones is considered. This process was reflected, among other things, in the daily work of employees of the people's Commissariat, in the change of the nomenclature of positions, in the formation of labor discipline of employees, etc. In conclusion, it is concluded that the Revolution, Civil war, education and the subsequent liquidation of the DIA did not completely destroy the pre-revolutionary management practices, which for some time were manifested in the business discourse, staffing, in the concentration of functions of the people's Commissariat of internal Affairs.
