Modernization processes in the industry of the Mordovian ASSR in the period from 1950s until the mid-1980s (evidence from Ruzayevsky chemical machine-building plant)

The article deals with the development of industrial production in the Mordovian ASSR in the period from 1950s until the mid-1980s. The regularities and peculiarities of industrial development with a view to the growth of industrial production both in the whole country and in particular republic are envisaged in this paper. The post-war period is considered for the country as the most successful in the development of the Soviet economy. The industry of Mordovia radically changed its production technologies in the post-war years, renewing the machinery at the enterprises of either union or regional subordination. The peculiarity of industry development in Mordovia consists in the fact that the reconstruction and extension of its old enterprises was accompanied with the construction of new ones: tool-making, cable, cement, lamp and other factories The industry of the region was the leading branch of the commercial and economic complex in the mid-1960s. Mordovia became the developed industrial-agrarian republic, which formed in the completely different socioeconomic conditions. The main tendencies of industry development in Mordovian Republic were envisaged in the context of chemical machine building factory, which construction was started in the late 1950s in Ruzayevka. By the example of this factory the basic trends of the commercial industry development in Mordovia such as key enterprise activities, production and product release development and factory progressing from the commissioning to the mid - 1980s were analyzed. Moreover, the main economic achievements, factory recruitment policy as well as tendencies and perspectives of the development were pointed out.
