The modulated differential scanning microcalorimeter KGM3100 has been developed in Russia. Temperature modulation based on the sequences of short intervals of heat and isothermal intervals through the whole selected interval of temperatures has been utilized in this instrument. This method of modulation, spread in the world practice, provides clear and fast measurement results. The temperature difference along the radius of a gold calorimetric chamber of 10 mm in diameter does not exceed at a heat rate of up to 2.5 K/min, and the temperature difference along the width of a sample is less than 0.1 K, and has no practical influence on the power heat measurement result. Measurements of thermal power of processes containing kinetic part and processes, not containing this part were carried out on the calorimeter. The KGM3100 provides a possibility to use samples of the enlarged mass for operation at low scanning speeds; this enlarges the measured heat power. This will allow to expand the field of researches due to the increase of the signal/noise ratio at measurements with the given calorimeter, which is its advantage over the existing analogues.
