Youth absenteeism in Russia

The article deals with the tendencies of the electoral activity of the Russian youth in 2008 as compared with that of 1995 paralleled with the activity of the electorate of other age groups. Taking into consideration the experience of the West, an attempt has been made to realise, why the young are much less interested in elections. The impact of youth escapism upon the development of social processes has been studied, too.
