In modern Russia a regional history becomes the original material for the techniques, which combine an attempt to consider regional identity issue and economic viability, semiotic analysis and tourism management. All these approaches could be considered from the point of both social planning and the concept of social trauma (dynamic society reaction to some negatively affecting and shocking changes). The article considers an intellectual phenomenon «Permistika» - a movement typical for the social and cultural life of Perm of 1980-s - 2000-s - in the framework of this theoretical approach. The article analyses the following point: in what way the traumas of regional uniqueness loss, city name loss and postindustrial transit, which were turned into real problems in Post-Soviet period, affected planning and artistic activities of the representatives of this movement. Special attention is paid to three components of Permistika; stratigraphic patriotism - belief in regional uniqueness based on the priority given to the city of Perm in naming a geologic period «Permian Period»; cultural semiotic design of new symbols and significance of city space and new urban mythology which appeals to heroic images from Stalin period of industrialization and metaphysical mining civilization.
