Mongolian-Chinese foreign economic and foreign policy relations

Since the establishment of diplomatic relations, Mongolia and China have gone through a difficult path from close cohesion, then mutual rejection to multifaceted cooperation in political, economic, cultural and other fields. In the late 1990s, political and economic relations of China and Mongolia reached a high level and China became Mongolia's main external partner. The Chinese side initiated a deep exchange of views on the further development of Chinese-Mongolian relations of friendship and cooperation and a wide range of issues of international and regional policy. In the 2000s the dialogue between the states grew at all levels, foreign economic relations, international projects increased, Mongolia was intensively involved in the development of the East Asian infrastructure network. On the base of official sources, the article follows the path taken in the foreign policy course, analyzes the two countries’ foreign economic relations, and identifies the main trends.
