"Mongol-Tatar yoke": ideological and methodological aspects of the historical discourse

The article analyzes the concept of the "Mongol - Tatar yoke" in Russian historiography. Special attention is paid to the influence of political and ideological factors on the formation and development of the concept. The article discusses alternative interpretations of Russian-Horde relations developed in contemporary historiography. Failure of the conception of «Mongol yoke» in modern historical science is proved.
