The article is devoted to the scientific oriental societies in Russia at the beginning of the XX^century. The Russian Committee for study the Middle and Eastern Asia played the important rule in the development of the Mongolian studies. Its activity was connected with the activity of the world known scientists: A. Pozdneev, V. Kotvich, B. Vladimirtsov, A. Rudnev, Ts. Zhamsarano.
