Monitoring as a data mechanism of the regional and municipal management system

The article discusses the ways of building systems and technologies of socio- economic monitoring as a tool of regional and municipal management. The monitoring is considered as an information technology of science-based acquisition of information about the managed system for implementation of the management program. It is shown that the traditional system of socioeconomic monitoring does not fully promote effective governance, since it mainly states the results of operation of the object under management (a region or a municipal entity). Therefore, the aim of the research is to develop an innovative model of socio-economic monitoring.
