Monitoring of interethnic relations and prevention of extremist manifestations: theory and practice

The article discusses the methods of monitoring interethnic relations, in particular, the expert interview method. The work is devoted to an important theoretical problem that has the most direct connection with the political practice of the Russian Federation. The author studies the problems of preventing extremist manifestations, as well as issues of overcoming interethnic contradictions and eliminating interethnic tension on the base of generalization and systematization of various sources. The work is based on a wide range of sources, including regulations and other official documents, as well as scientific works on ethno-political issues and journalism. The use of empirical sources in its writing gives special value to the work. The practical need for the study of methods for monitoring interethnic relations is complemented by insufficient knowledge of this problem in domestic political science. Attempts at its complex analysis are extremely rare. The problems raised by the author in the study are currently quite acute.
