Monitoring the results of subsidizing agricultural organizations

This article discusses certain issues related to the methodology of studying effectiveness of state support for agribusiness in terms of subsidizing activities. Assessing the real results of subsidizing production remains a nontrivial research task that requires an integrated approach. As initial data, the study used a dynamic series of production profitability data for certain types of products sold by agricultural organizations, considering and excluding budget subsidies. A preliminary analysis of the data was carried out, which included the determination of the average chronologically, median, average annual volatility, maximum and minimum, as well as the absolute difference between the average and median by group, taking into account and excluding subsidies. During the main study, non-parametric tests were used for product rows of the same name in groups. Significant between-group differences were noted. Analysis of the data showed that significant differences are observed only in four types of products out of eleven given, which is slightly more than one-third of all initial data. The potential for increasing the effectiveness of subsidies is apparently not only in increasing the amount of funding but also in complex structural, innovative, and institutional conditions. Special attention should be given to agricultural and industrial complex sectors to achieve accelerated digitalization and import substitution. As directions for further research, we can point to a deeper analysis of the differences in the profitability of subsidized and non-subsidized production, taking into account the industry’s share in the total volume of agricultural products, as well as the institutional section by farm type.
