Chickenpox is an acute, highly contagious viral infection transmitted by an aerogenic mechanism. Most often, the course of the disease is benign, but in some cases, complications can occur both in the form of bacterial infections and those associated with damage to the nervous system. The main contingent of patients are children. This paper presents an analysis of the incidence of chickenpox among children in the Republic of Mordovia for the period from 2015 to 2020. The proportions of different age categories of children in the total incidence of chickenpox are identified.
